Manufacturer's description

The Toppobrillo Eurobus is a robust new modular power solution for Eurorack - efficient, professional grade power with the lowest in-class noise specs on the market.

Features

  • +12V @ 3.5A, -12V @ 2A, +5V @ 3A
  • Lowest ripple/ noise in a switching Eurorack power supply. Offers the lowest noise/ efficiency ratio available.
  • Zone-filtered, low impedance distribution; extra thick copper, thick traces and 4 layers of meticulously stitched ground plane span entire width of board.
  • Fast, stable and robust load regulation.
  • Efficient and relatively cool running. 90% efficient at load.
  • Soft-start and short recovery.
  • Over-current, over-voltage and thermally protected.
  • 20x keyed power connects.
  • High reliability poly cap distributed capacitance; very long life, very low ESR.
  • Bus breakout header for peripherals and remote access.
  • Small footprint and low profile. Assembled Active Eurobus dims: approx. 250mm L x 85mm W x 12.5mm at the highest. (over the regulator board)

System

The Eurobus system consists of a SWB65 regulator board paired with a low-impedance, zone-filtered busboard. Together, they provide a clean and stable power solution, capable of quietly delivering up to 3.5A on the +12V rail and 2A on the -12V rail. Ripple and noise are exceptionally low, even near full capacity, significantly outperforming typical off-the-shelf “can” switching supplies. Be sure to check out the User's and Installation Guide for more details and specs.

Modern Power for Modern Systems

As microprocessor-based modules have proliferated in Eurorack, the power requirements for many users’ systems have become more and more asymmetrical, relying more heavily on the +12V rail. The Eurobus system addresses this, and provides a very robust +12V rail (+3.5A) as well as an optional +5V (1.5A) rail. Note: this configuration includes the +5V option on both busboards for a total of 3A.

Modular by Design

The Eurobus’s modular design not only makes it one of the most flexible power solutions available, it also enhances performance. By utilizing the full width of the busboard for thicker traces and uninterrupted ground planes, routing and return paths are optimized- reducing impedances, improving power delivery, and lowering noise across the board, all while maintaining a compact footprint. One of the primary design goals for the Eurobus was optimal noise performance- approaching that of a linear power supply while retaining the benefits of modern switching efficiency- more juice, less heat, smaller footprint.

Expandable - 6U and Beyond

The Eurobus offers a scalable power solution for modern Eurorack systems, easily adaptable to a wide range of setups. The Eurobus busboard can be configured either actively or passively, used in conjunction with another active Eurobus, and upgraded with an SWB65 upgrade kit at any time for an expandable power solution that scales with your needs.

DIY'Y

Note that installation requires some familiarity with tools and techniques, but it’s manageable with a bit of planning. Retrofitting an existing case with our power supply should be straightforward, as you can likely reuse existing parts such as the DC brick, wiring, power switch, and DC input jack. You may not need to drill new holes for our mounting pattern (see the User's and Installation Guide for details). When installing into a new case, some planning is required to determine the best locations for power entry and other elements, so take your time. If you have questions or need guidance on selecting the right power supply, feel free to email us for a consultation—we’re happy to assist.
