Welcome to that strange pre-Superbooth lull period where lots of brands are preparing to launch things but there’s not actually all that much to talk about yet! We’re sitting on a bunch of embargoed product announcements that will be public by the time the next newsletter rolls around, but we just need to bite our tongues for now.
Intellijel beat the rush by announcing their new granular sampler, Multigrain, on Friday night. It was sold out here by Saturday teatime - but fear not if you missed out, we have more on the way and you can pre-order one now. They really have nailed it with this one - the interface is super-intuitive and you’ll be seeding your own little clouds of ambient heaven in no time at all.
It was a similar rapid sell-out situation with Xaoc Devices’ recently released mega-delay, Samarkanda, and we have a few more on the way. Heads up, though: these are the last ones available from the first production run, and there’s no ETA yet for the next batch.
Elsewhere, we have a new Knobula polyphonic Eurorack module, a new Korg desktop synth, some nifty new controllers for Tubbutec’s classic synth upgrades, an amazingly priced new drum machine and mixer from Cre8audio, and some mega deals on UDO Audio synths and Bitwig software to tempt you. Then on 2nd and 3rd May, electronic veterans Ultramarine are in Scotland for a pair of gigs at the Glad Cafe in Glasgow (supported by our friends Georgina Penstkart and Andrew ‘Expert Sleepers’ Ostler’s band The Shell) and Sneaky Pete’s in Edinburgh (supported by another good friend of ours, Other Lands, and discjocelyne). Highly recommended if you like electronic music of just about any variety!
